Trent was once a highly skilled elite shadow operative for the Gamma Trita Corporation (GTC), where he served alongside his partners Mia Semm (the original identity of Lorelei Ogden) and Medusa. When Semm suffered a crisis of conscience and revolted against the corporation's ruthless methods, Trent remained loyal to his partner. GTC captured them both, reprogramming Semm into a new identity and pulling Trent's mind from his body.

Ogden managed to restore Trent and reunite him with Nightingale. While an assassin for GTC, he'd been assigned the task of killing Nightingale, but fell in love with her instead.
