Baroner is a major figure in Orlean's notorious Bone Walkers Syndicate. He runs the Bonne Chance Club, a prominent gambling den in the French Quarter.

He's not to be messed with. People tend to disappear when they get on Baroner's bad side. 

And yet Brokowski keeps crossing his path.
